The working area page is a dynamic and interactive page containing a plethora of information. Users can select various layer (overlay) options depending on their preferences to include: Sectional map, vector map, no map, course rules, and area IDs. The sectional and vector maps can be zoomed in (using a pinching motion) as well as panned (touch and drag motion). Additionally, information on airfields in the area can be quickly retrieved by touching on the airport to bring up a quick look information box. Selection of the next page is made through the lower navigation bar at the bottom of the page.
Header Bar - Present on every page. Contains the Menu icon on the left, page title in the center, and Checklist icon on the right.
Quick EP Hot Buttons - Touching either of these two buttons will take the user to the respective EP section for those procedures or information.
Next-Page Arrow - Indicates which airfield or CR arrival page will be next if swiped left. Users use the navigation selector bar at the bottom of the page to chose the follow-on page. If no selection is made at the bottom, the arrow will be titled "No Airfield".
Layers Options - Touching this icon will open the layers option bar, at the top of the picture, giving the user access to select which layers they want to see.
Informational Popovers - All areas will have 3 informational popovers at the top of the page. These popovers contain FWOP information that is general to the working area, and the entry and exit procedures.
Quick Ref Popovers - These two popovers will display a quick reference (gouge) sheet containing simplified or condensed versions of the maneuvers. An example is given below.
Navigation Selector - Selects which page will be brought up when swiping left. Users can choose between common airfields or course rules for a given area.
The layer icon at the lower right corner of the area graphic will open up the layers bar at the top of the graphic. This bar allows the user to select various overlay options and configure the working area map in unique fashions.
Sectional will bring up a section map of the area for general reference. Vector will bring up a vector map which is a map with only pertinent information on it (decluttered). A user may select either of these (mutually exclusive) or no underlying map at all and simply show the area grid.
Area ID will overlay the individual area identifications on the grid.
Two course rules buttons will overlay the particular course rules arrival procedure on the selected map.
All areas do not have identical buttons in the options bar. Some of the areas may have section line or Class-C airspace overlays available.
The quick look info box can be called up by touching on the hotspot located over each airfield. Not all airfields will have this feature and is mainly limited to airfields that can be used for landings or emergencies.
The quick look info box contains quick and pertinent information about the chosen airfield. It is helpful for seeing data on the selected airfield without the user having to leave the working area page.
Shown is an example of an area informational popover. Each area has a popover for general information, and entry or exit procedures. These informational popovers relay procedures as dictated in the FWOP.
Like all popovers, close the popover and return to the departure page by touching the Close Page (X) icon in the upper right.
The area page also contains two popovers with condensed maneuvers guides. This are representative of the gouge sheets commonly used to assist in memory of a procedure. As always, the source document for all procedures is the NATOPS or FTI.
When finished, close the popover and return to the departure page by touching the return icon (arrow) icon in the upper right.
